I'm a "purist" kind of guy, and don't stray too far from factory standard stuff. However, a friend is putting disc brakes on his '57 DeSoto and will be using 15" wheels instead of the standard 14" ones. Other than the original wheelcovers not fitting, is there any particular problem to consider, like wheel offset or cranking up the torsion bars? I don't know what the outer dimension of the new tires will be compared to the originals, but I know I've seen 15" wheels on '57 DeSotos so they must fit somehow. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

There aren't any issues with it at all. You can also fit original wheelcovers on it if you go with dog dishes - or else swap to '55 or '56 DeSoto covers. I am running 15" wheels on my '58 Firedome too, with '55 hubcaps on it. I am also running wide 60 series tires on 15 x 8" rims on my '58 Dodge with original dog dish covers.
