Today was nice enough to get my car out of the garage so I could open the doors on both sides at the same time. I was in the process of making progress on my carpet installation when I decided that I didn't like how I had run the speaker and dual antenna cable from the trunk on the passenger side of the car. This required removing the antenna from the radio and pulling it all the way back into the trunk and starting over. As I got back to the front, I ran it above the defroster hose (Item 43, "Tube" PN 1540 102, below). Some how I managed to force the antenna cable into the "tube" hard enough that the 62 year old material gave up the ghost and ripped.

So now I am looking for a new Item 43 hose/tube. Not even sure what the diameter is but it looked like 2".

Any suggested sources?

Any auto supply will have the "defroster hose" or "climate control hose". Be sure of the diameter and you'll probably have to buy a 3 to 6-foot length.

Oddly, I didn't see your response.

Thanks Danny and Marc. I got the Dorman/Napa hose and have tried it. It will fit. Easier to get it on the defroster fan outlet than on the defrost plenum inlet because the inlet has two bumps which are intended to keep the hose in position (I presume). I might have to decrease their height with vice grips so I get push the hose on.

I too will have left over hose to share.

Be careful about removing those bumps.

If you look at the tubing carefully you should find that the ribs are like a thread - they go around and around the length of the tube, as opposed to being rings.

So, at the one end you should be able to "screw" the tube onto the outlet, using the bumps to retain it.

Thanks Gregg. I missed that concept. Got it now. Thanks. (Fortunately I haven't done anything since I posted).
