Location: D-70199 Heslach		I have a question about AC, better said, an disconnected AC.
The previous owner disconnect the most of the poor not working AC,
but let has left the two way solenoid valve in the car.
Since I own the car I wonder why there comes so much smoke from
the Crankcase Ventilation. I found out the reverse running of the valve
goes staightly in the CV what I think thats not good. Is that circumstance
about the not working AC, or because the Valve is useless, and the zero-position
let the high pressure straight back into the crankcase ventilation.
Have anybody an idea.

Because of the fact, that I more looking for engine/Lubrication, I decide to post in here.

Location: Southern Sweden - Sturkö island		Just remove the valve Tom, it's a remains from the time when the AC-media didn't contain oil for lubrication of the compressor.
Plug the "T" and the long bolt for the CV.

Oil pressure from the engine is used to power the piston operator for the damper. It does not come into contact
with the refrigerant circuit. Later systems use engine vacuum instead of the oil pressure lines. Wonder if this
affected oil pressure at all. My 57 Desoto still has the solenoid, but the piston is frozen. Don't really need the extra
load from outside air entering the ducting.

It doesn't really go into the CV system, it's just a convenient place to return the oil to the engine. With the electric terminal disconnected the valve would be inop and no oil would flow.

It could, however, reduce the oil pressure if the valve was leaking internally so simply disconnect and plug the oil pressure source.
