If so, I hope that it was good.;) I saw this on ebay and jumped on it without doing any investigation or asking here.

They all used to be adjustable. We took the cover off, adjusted the point setting, read the outcome on a meter, and put the cover on. This was just an external adjustment of the points inside.

I know that the mechanical voltage regulators are all adjustable.

I was just wondering whether this externally adjustable regulator is better or worse than the normal cover-off adjustable types.

I just liked the idea of being able to have my multimeter attached to the battery with the engine at fast idle and then being able to dial in a voltage that I like, e.g. 13.9 V.

Time will tell.

I used to run a 6-volt version of that on cars equipped with an 8-volt battery, could barely get the 9.2 volts needed to charge the 8-volt battery.
