I'm trying to figure out exactly what these were used for. I'm assuming they were end pieces of a display. Maybe a shelf across the middle? Any insight someone may have would be appreciated. That way I can build whatever is needed to get a factory use look.

Just a guess, but I'm thinking oil rack. There would have been a welded wire unit, or combination of parts, to create the rack between those ends.

yeah its gotta be an oil rack. The height and width will confirm that.

It that top is "about" the width of an oil can and the height is divisible by 5 or 6 or 7 oil can,

I think it would confirm it 100% There was probably a cap along the top with a sign, the blue is 60's color scheme?

It could be any mopar fluid container honestly.

And it could be a chromed wire hanging stands? or sheetmetal.  I think it was a solid piece though so maybe the sides "popped" on the front back and the top popped on.

I think it was a flat piece of sheet metal with full length small bends on the back panel. You kind of layed one of those on the side then sat the front/back on it and then popped the other side on.

That fire chief makes it really convincing. I'll start looking at displays that are similar, take measurements. Maybe I can find one from another brand that matches up and just replace the sides. This is awesome guys thanks! Would still love to find a picture of it in use.

since the top is clean and protected I would think it had a cap on it, that pops in the rubber grommets. You can kind of see the edges are dirty/smudged but not the very top(one got rust?)

So that would lean against being a wire hanger basket situation. I think it had a similar top like the fire chief probably with a sign up top.

It might have had all kinds of fluids.? maybe trans fluid?
