Rust everywhere, but the interior is ok looking. Owner claims that it "Doesn't run great."

These '60-61 4dr pillarless hardtops are fantastic. This might be just barely good enough to restore.

This looks like the prototypical $500 car.  I know you can't buy any type of $500 car anymore, so I wondered how stuck in the past I am.

I Googled up an inflation calculator and asked what $500 in January 1985 would be worth today.  Answer: $1,182.72.

Apparently, on this particular vehicle I am stuck somewhere between February and March of 1977, where $500 then has the same purchasing power as $2,100 today.

However, if I could magically transport back to March of 1977, I would think some Dennis Guilder type would say:

"Forget it Mikey, this car isn't worth fifty bucks!" Translation: $209.71 in today's money.

Cars like this one make me a little bit sad. It's an attractive car that looks too nice to be a parts car. On the other hand, it needs pretty much everything and it would a long and costly restoration.

Dollarwise, you'd probably be way better off buying this car - It's the same model and color and it's listed for $14,995. It's hard to imagine you could restore a car for less.
