Send me a PM or email me at jboymechanic@yahoo.com Transmission cooler - bolts onto water pump housing - $20 Water pump & housing - $50 (had listed before, local sale fell through, craigslist buyer never showed) Carburetor - 4 barrel - for parts (pretty corroded after sitting many years without air cleaner) - $20 (The tag is on it if you want the number) Generator - spins freely, most likely needs a rebuild - $40 Power Steering pump - mates to back of generator, spins freely and pumps fluid when driven with drill - $40 Will combine generator and starter for $60 1960 PowerFlite transmission - From my 1960 Plymouth, worked when pulled, but should be gone through. Off road many years, seals are hard and were leaking. Parking brake not included - $75 1957 392 Hemi 172 tooth torque converter - mistakenly ordered and installed behind my 1956 354 Hemi, which created a gear pitch mismatch. Torque converter is good, ring gear is bad. Maybe 20 hours of run time on TC. Fatsco will give me $100 as-is for a core, they charge $600 for a good TC. Asking $150 (ring gear can be replaced) 1957 or 1958 392 Hemi starter for 172 tooth ring gear. This is a factory Chrysler unit that looks like it was rebuilt and put on a shelf for a long time. I have hooked it up to a battery to make sure it works, which is does. No solenoid present to engage the pinion to the ring. Factory data plate is missing though. $75 1955 or earlier 6 volt starter - For parts, both mounting ears are broken off the "snout". I believe there is a break in the winding as the starter turns but very weak. For 146 tooth ring gear. Chrysler part number 1473218, Auto-Liter part number MCH-6206, serial number 113153042 - $20 PowerMaster XS Torque Starter 9531 - For 1957 or 1958 392 Hemi with 172 tooth ring gear. Will need to be brazed or soldered. All Imperial radiators were the high capacity air conditioning radiators - $100 Starter for 172 tooth ring gear, 1957 or 1958. Expert 5K+ Posts: 9666 Location: So. Cal | Jon, can you tell me what the differences are between the '56 Imperial 8 3/4 and the '57 version? Are the axle splines different? Is the mounting pattern for the gearset different? What is preventing you from swapping a newer gear set into a '56 8 3/4 rear? Thanks. | ||

I don't know all the differences, but the first thing I noticed was the bolt pattern that holds the diff to the axle housing is different. The spline count on the 1956 axles is 16, so there is another incompatibility. Finally, the yoke has an obsolete u-joint size and style. | ||
