I'm having an issue here with the proper body classification of my car. I am in the process of signing up for the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals, and the chart they use to choose your body class lists the styles of A, B, and C are all after 1960, with the exception of one code 235 Plymouth A Body Stock 1960-66.

I thought that all A Body cars were the subcompacts. The only other listing is 430- Full Size 1955-61 cars. when I looks at a classification chart on EBay, they have mine listed as a C Body, although the Carlisle website does not consider the year of my car a C Body, based on their chart.

I just want to make sure when I sign up that I am assigned to the proper group. Any help would be greatly appreciated-Thanks!

B-body didn't start until 1962 with the '62 Dart. A-body started in '60 with the Valiant. C-body started much later in 1965. However, people generally lump cars together that seem to go together, like saying all cars from '61-earlier are C-bodies, except for the Valiant. But this is a lousy (and false) generalization. Lumping the '63-'64 Chryslers with the C-bodies isn't too bad of an idea. But really, you should put your car with the '55-'61 where they really belong (assuming that you don't have a Valiant). As far as separating the '60-'66 A-bodies from the rest of them; that is done primarily because those years are more unique and share less in common with the later versions. But they still are A-bodies of course.

Call them out. It's Forward Look Car! That's the class you want to be in. Tell them you want to be with the 1955-1961 cars Period.
