My Imperial has 8.20-15 tires, which I thought to mean 15 inch wheels with 8.2" of tire height on each side of the wheel. This would result in an overall tire diameter of 31.4", but measuring the actual tires gives me a height of 29.5 inches. What does 8.20 mean?

Tire width, on the recommended wheel size, at the widest point (not the tread width).

That makes sense, I did measure the width to be about 8.5 inches with a tape measure. Thanks for the reply.
