| 57 imperial I picked up a few years ago that was in terrible shape. I just finished getting all the switches working. Beauty of these switches is you can open them up do some cleaning or possible solder if needed (dimple worn down) and fix them good as new.

| I took the cheapo way out simply because chroming is really expensive. I think it looks good but not as good as fresh chrome. I will live with it and be happy. |

Location: So. Cal | It looks good like that. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Another option is to look for better versions on Ebay. That is a lot cheaper way to get close to the same thing, but you gotta wait for the right part to pop up. I was intending to restore the chrome on the plastic dash in my Lancer. I hesitated and hesitaed but eventually a really nice dash bezel came up on Ebay that looked almost as good as new, and was 1/10th the price of restoring my original. |

Location: northern germany | I know it is just me, just my personal opinion (no offense) but I prefer the pitted, faded chrome look over brand new, perfect paint. It's called patina and shows the history and age of your car. If you paint over chrome it may look perfect and new, like on a new car, but gives the car a "certain" look that I personally don't like. In my opinion the paint over chrome makes a car losing its 50s charme. |

I've never used this stuff, but have heard good things. Has anyone tried it for restoring things like gauge surrounds and such? I would think with a coat of clear it may be an economical alternative to re-plating.

I did a bit a research and there is nothing that can substitute real chrome for durability reflection shine etc. There was one that comes close CeramaKrome but still looks off |
