Im currently creating a website/registry dedicated to 1957 Plymouths, and can only seem to find production numbers of a few models/ body styles. Does anyone have the full breakdown? It would be a great benefit to the site and I will give credit of course on the site.

Thanks,
Randy

I don't know what the source of the serial numbers was, but serial numbers starting with "3" in the 1931 to 1957 era were for Dodges, not Plymouths. US-built Plymouths started with "1" or "2", while Canadian-built Plymouths started with "9".

For the 1957 Plymouth, by assembly plant :

P-30 : 6 cylinder : Plaza, Savoy, Belvedere :
Lynch Road (Detroit) : 14,280,001 to 14,410,539 : 130,539
Los Angeles, CA : 25,215,001 to 25,222,883 : 7,883
Evansville, IN : 20,860,001 to 20,891,720 : 31,720
Newark, DE : 28,100,001 to 28,103,737 : 3,737
Total USA : 173,879

Windsor, ON :
P30-1 : Plaza 6 : 95,545,301 to 95,552,038 : 7,038
P30-2 : Savoy 6 : 96,123,501 to 96,132,216 : 8,716
P30-3 : Belvedere 6: 95,999,101 to 95,999,183 : 83
Total Canada : 15,837

P-31 : 8-cylinder : Plaza, Savoy, Belvedere, Fury :
Lynch Road (Detroit) : 16,083,001 to 16,392,956 : 309,956
Los Angeles, CA : 26,595,001 to 26,643,618 : 48,618
Evansville, IN : 22,330,001 to 22,450,693 : 120,693
Newark, DE : 28,525,001 to 28,534,683 : 9,683
Total USA : 488,950

Windsor, ON :
P31-1 : Plaza V8 : 95,569,801 to 95,571,764 : 1,964
P31-2 : Savoy V8 : 96,188,701 to 96,197,924 : 9,224
P31-3 : Belvedere V8 : 96,921,601 to 96,929,547 : 7,947
Total Canada : 19,135

One of the sites listed has the production by body style. Those numbers include all models built in the U.S. and Canada, for domestic and export. The numbers include export DeSoto Diplomat (SP30 and SP31) as well export Dodge Kingsway (D64 and D65) and the Canadian-market Dodge (Crusader, Regent, Mayfair) (D64 and D65). All DeSoto Diplomat and Dodge Kingsway models built in the U.S. used Plymouth serial numbers while Canadian-built DeSoto Diplomat models used Plymouth serial numbers. Canadian-built Dodge Kingsway models used the same serial numbers as the Canadian-market Plymouth-based Dodge.

Serial numbers for the Canadian-built Kingsway, Crusader, Regent and Mayfair :
D64-1 : Crusader 6 : 97,542,001 to 97,548,317 : 6,317
D64-2 : Regent 6 : 98,116,801 to 98,125,522 : 8,722
D64-3 : Mayfair 6 : 97,999,101 to 97,999,137 : 37
Total Canada : 15,076

D65-1 : Crusader V8 : 97,565,601 to 97,567,701 : 2,101
D65-2 : Regent V8 : 98,181,001 to 98,189,377 : 8,377
D65-3 : Mayfair V8 : 98,919,001 to 98,925,348 : 6,348
Total Canada : 16,826

The 83 Belvedere 6 models were export Plymouth Belvedere 6 4dr sedans and export DeSoto Diplomat Custom 4dr sedans. The 37 Mayfair 6 models were export Dodge Kingsway Custom 4dr sedans.

If you are using the Classic Car Database for production by body style figures, be advised they have 55,590 for the 2dr sedan in both Belvedere and Savoy series. That figure is correct for the Savoy 2dr sedan but the Belvedere 2dr sedan should be 24,369. CCD took their Plymouth and DeSoto production figures from "The Plymouth and DeSoto Story" by Don Butler. Someone entered the wrong figures for the Belvedere in the book and everyone has copied the error since.

The old plymouthcentral.com site had a lot of this information, though in a condensed form. You can still see some of it here in the web.archive.org site: http://web.archive.org/web/20040209051903/http://www.plymouthcentra...
