Expert 5K+ Posts: 9650 Location: So. Cal | This is interesting. 1956 Plymouth Belvedere/Fury This is perhaps the only 4 door 56 Plymouth Fury in existence! Starting out originally as a 1956 Belvedere 4 Door Sport Sedan, this beautiful restoration was customized to the trim and option specs of a Plymouth Fury, making it truly one of a kind. The Plymouth Fury was a sub-series of the Plymouth Belvedere, but in 1956, it was only available as a 2-door coupe. The owner, wanting the Fury aesthetics on this vehicle, assembled a fabulous tribute model by mating several of the Fury's options to his Belvedere, making a true one of one custom 4 door Plymouth Fury. The 56 Belvedere/Fury marked the introduction of the first push-button automatic transmission to appear in an American automobile, and of course the dramatic and iconic rear raked tail-fins. The anodized gold trim accent stripe along the sides of the body (also a Fury signature) has given this vehicle a stunning presence. The original 277 cid 2bbl V8 engine was rebuilt with a 30 over bore and runs smooth. The interior was restored and presents as new. This gorgeous showroom condition restoration utilized only authentic/period correct parts and components. It was kept in secure, weather proof storage since its restoration over 3 years ago and is seeking a classic Fury lover to keep it looking beautiful for years to come. Recent appraisal available upon request. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Plymouth-Fury-Belvedere-Fury/123232321415?h... "Showroom condition"??? With that engine bay/undercarriage? I've seen field cars in better shape under the hood.... At least his price isn't completely insane. ~Peter

Location: Parts Unknown | When people write this kind of over-the-top, flowery ad copy, do they vomit all over themselves from the over-saturation of praise and overall awesomeness going on with the object in question ? I puked up a little in my mouth just reading it. I have another one-of-a-kind Awesomemobile these folks might be interested in selling: (youth.jpg) Attachments ---------------- youth.jpg (39KB - 76 downloads)

Regular Posts: 65 | I get liking the Fury, but making a tribute car and then asking fury money... um no. It's still just a belvedere. I agree about the engine and underside, those are the first things I look at. Side trim doesn't mean anything. The fury had the 303 V800 Engine - the 277 is a POS in comparison. That car is an insult to everything 56 and everything Fury. Should just saved his money and bought a real fury.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9650 Location: So. Cal | You guys need to lighten up a little. He makes it clear what it is and isn't so there is no issue here. This isn't the first look-alike made by any means. I agree that the price is a little high, but $20K (27K Canadian) isn't horribly far off and won't buy you a real Fury either. I personally don't like the dash color. He should have made it the same color as a Fury to keep the similarity going, instead of being cute with the gold color. And like Austin, I can't believe he removed the awesome Powerflite emblem to install that cheesy Special Edition. But other than that, I like it and I think it is tasteful enough that many other people would like it too. Personally, I would rather have the full Belvedere trim on the car because Belvedere's are better looking than Furys anyway, but this seems to be well done and looks good. The difference in performance between the 277 and 303 isn't huge, and neither one is capable of turning the car into a hotrod. But my 277 was a great motor for cruising around with. Edit: I also am not thrilled with the engine color, the air cleaner, and the engine bay condition in general. Edited by Powerflite 2018-07-07 9:34 AM

That said, PS was an option on the 56 Plymouths, including the Fury

Expert Posts: 1918 Location: Hell's Outhouse - a.k.a. Buckeye, Arizona | I actually think it's pretty sharp as a concept - it's a beyond obvious clone, but the concept is tasteful, IMO. I mean, if Chrysler could produce a "banker's hot rod" in the 300 series, why couldn't a working man's family have theirs in a practical 4-door hardtop? If I had enough scratch for delightfully eccentric whimsy, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. My beef with this car is the ad claim about "This gorgeous showroom condition restoration". That it definitely isn't. I mean, I don't mind the look of the undercarriage as long as it's solid and entirely functional nor do it put much emphasis on the appearance of the engine bay, but one quick look at the fit and appearance of those doors and panels makes me wonder just what the hell kind of showrooms they have up in Calgary. Those babies have more waves than the 2011 Japanese tsunami. I'd give him/her their asking price if they threw in arranging transport to Arizona.....

I noticed he is missing the unique power steering horn button. That makes it even more likely that it was transplanted from a Dodge.

Regular Posts: 65 | I don't see it as a matter of lightening up. It's not a fury. List it correctly then be as fancy as you like with the description and I wouldn't have an issue. It's clickbait , and against ebay policy.

Regular Posts: 65 | He could have at least painted the generator assembly too. Why just put on a nice look pump and leave the rest crappy ? I also agree about the showroom restoration comment. Was it restored ? Well.. kinda I guess - but do the job the whole way people ! Painting is easy ! Asking 20 freaking grand can't spend 10 bucks on a can of paint.
