Location: Oley, PA | It looks like pretty decent and complete car. I'd be curious to know what his reserve price is.
As an owner of a 61 Newport, I noticed a few things. Mostly small things, but worth a mention.
The headlight bezels and black front fender trims are from a 62.
Seat upholstery and door trim panels are not original.
The heater core has been bypassed, so it probably leaks.
The rear antennas are clearly an add-on.
The car has dual outside mirrors. The passenger side mirror has a remote adjuster on the passenger side of the dash. It looks cool, but definitely did not come from Chrysler that way.
It looks like the trim tag has been removed from the cowl. Hopefully he has it somewhere.
It appears to be a manual steering car. Even from the angle of that photo, I think I should be able to see the filler cap on the PS pump and also the hoses. Power brakes and manual steering seem a rather unusual combination.
There does appear to be some body filler under that paint. If I were going to bid on this car, I'd want to know how much.
Also he doesn't mention the trunk. Since, he mentioned the floor repair, I'd want to know the condition of trunk floor and the lip.
All in all, if the price is right, it looks like this could be a very nice driver for someone.
