I am going to be removing my drive shaft to have the front ball and trunion U-joint serviced/replaced. While the driveshaft is off, I figured it would be a good time to replace the internal parking brake shoes (no idea what shape they are in). Currently, the parking brake is a bit marginal (works 99% of the time).

Based on the diagrams and the parts list below, I think I should be looking for shoe assemblies 1406 690 but my hardcopy 1956 Mopar parts book says 1321 314. I am confused.

Anybody point me to a source of the proper parts? (I've checked Rock Auto and came up dry, MoparMall might have them (1406 690s) but not cheaply - should I care?)

Some one else (local to me) suggested a truck shop that does brakes so I will contact them tomorrow.

In the meantime, I did find two options, that I am willing to hear comments on:

1. Andy Bernbaum for $59 (no mention of core charge):

https://www.oldmoparts.com/parts-service-brakes.aspx

2. MoparMall ($54 + $ 20 core charge):
