This would make a good daily driver for someone. Power windows, seats, brakes and steering, dual exhaust, tri-tone paint, etc. There's a lot to like about this one. Not sure how many of the options are original or added on. Tranny might not be stock seeing as he has a floor mounted shifter. Also has some rust on the rockers and wheel openings that needs fixing. Don't know enough about the 56's to say if it's worth the asking price or not.

Same. Might not be perfect but some cars just look good without trying. At this point it's a 20 footer but I'd be happy to drive it...

I love the 56 Chrysler St. Regis two-door hardtops. I didn't realize until just now how close the Desotos and the Chryslers are, down to the rear fenders, just the taillights and trim being entirely different (I think):

You are correct - they are basically the same car but the DeSoto looks much better in my opinion - lot more "flair".

Yep. That trim on the sides and tail lights really makes the car. It's almost enough to fool someone into thinking that rear body panels are sculpted differently from the the Chrysler.

The OE rear fenders do have different PNs between the Chrysler and Desoto due to the different holes for the stainless trim. However, the "repair" panels (presumably with no holes - drilled at the body repair shop) are the same for the 56 Desoto and Chrysler cars.
