It is 57 only and I have no info for 56 at all.
Greg

I've posted a APB for a 56 Dodge Broadcast sheet in the wanted section.

:)

I am just asking, but, are you sure Dodge in 56 used broadcast sheets? In 57/58 I'm unsure whether or not Plymouth, Chrysler or Imperial even used broadcast sheets!?

As I understand it, broadcast sheets were just "checklists" for the various assembly/subassembly areas to be sure cars were built as ordered. Required because these Dodges had many and many different options! A crazy number actually!!
We have seriously hijacked this thread!
Greg

Greg: No, I am *NOT* sure.

I've only been on this forum for 2 years but I have always been under the impression that there was a broadcast sheet for the 1956 Dodges and that it *should* have been located on top of the glove box cardboard. Maybe that was just a myth (??!!?)

I've looked (Googled) "1956 Dodge Broadcast sheet" and "1956 Dodge Dealer order form" many times and come up dry every time. I was hoping that maybe on the Nteenth time I would get lucky.

So far, not so.

The broadcast sheet I posted was for a 57 Detroit built Dodge.

To broaden this search, has anyone got or seen a broadcast sheet for any LA built car? If I recall correctly Daves car is an LA car.

Greg: You remembered correctly. My 56 Dodge Custom Royal D500 Sedan was built in the LA plant in May, 1956

I had a broadcast sheet for my LA built '56 Plymouth. So that proves that your car could have come with one. But unfortunately, it was placed under the original rubber mat on the front passenger side of the car. That's where it was put. I could read a couple of lines from it, but not much after many years under there, and it had partially become embedded in the floor paint. When I pulled up the mat, I should have taken a good picture of it before doing my work, but that was just before the advent of cheap digital pictures so it didn't happen.

I did hope to find the broadcast sheet in one of three locations:

1. Above the glove box (Nope)
2. On the back (under) side of the rear seat bottom (Nope)
3. Under the carpet. (Nope)

Based on the 56 LA Plymouth story, mine might have been under the original carpet. However, by the time I took over care of the car 2 years ago, the carpet had long since been changed to something other than stock, both underlay and carpet wise.

Still looking for a 56 Dodge Broadcast sheet. In the interim, I have "found" broadcast sheets for 57 and 59 Dodges and a 61 300 (Thanks to those who posted them up to this forum)

Window stickers would be helpful too.

What I have:

If only someone had the equivalent 1956 broadcast sheet to share, I would be very happy.

Dave, create your own broadcast sheet. First need an original IBM template with the dimensions, even when bad. Then the values of your DODGE to be inserted. I may assist you.   - SERGE -

This is the problem. I have never seen a 55 or 56 Dodge order form/build sheet, etc. with all the codes on it like 57, 58 and 59 ones. I have copies of those ones, just not a 55 or 56 sheet.

This my quest.

I do have IBM cards but not the broadcast/build sheets.

I would like to find the 56 Dodge equivalent of this 56 Plymouth order code list:

Dave, create your own broadcast sheet.

Here I found a blank 56 IBM Card at very low resolution. Should find the original or recreate. But you need the 1956 Car Production Broadcast. - SERGE -

Thanks Serge. I previously found and annotated a version of that 55 or 56 Dodge (or Plymouth??) Los Angeles plant IBM card. SO what I need is an order form and/or broadcast sheet.

Yesterday, I contacted Mark Bowden, Coordinator - Special Collections, Burton Historical Collection, Detroit Public Library with this info:

"The last time you and I were in email contact it was regarding 1956 AMA documents for the 1956 Dodges in 2017. That turned out great. I am sure that I thanked you then but if not, "Thanks very much".

Since that time I have been busy compiling information about the 1955, 1956 and 1957 Dodges. Most recently, I posted information about the 1957 Dodges regarding their Production Broadcast sheets and corresponding IBM cards.

This: http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=78394&...

But, although I have enjoyed documenting 1957 Dodge things, my real focus are the 1956 Dodges. One thing that I have not been able to find is a 1956 Dodge dealer order form with the order codes and/or an original 1956 Dodge Production broadcast sheet.

As a result, I am formally asking whether such documents are available, and, if so, how can I obtain copies of them?

I will contact Danielle Szostak-Viers with the same request.

I am hoping that between the two organizations, that I might actually find what I have been searching for for all these years.

This: http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=69770&...

David Forgie (56D500boy on the Forward Look forum)"

Today, Mark replied with:

"Hi David, We don't have a dealer order form nor production broadcast sheet for a 1956 Dodge. Best, Mark"

So merde.

I replied with:

"Mark: Thanks for the reply and at least checking your files. Too bad that you don't have what I am looking for.
Now I really have to hope that Danielle Szostak-Viers at Stellantis Historical can come up with something."

(I sent Danielle a similar email to the one I sent Mark yesterday but I have not heard anything back - yet)

Heard back from Danielle at Stellantis with this:

"Hello David,

Thank you for contacting the Historical Services. Unfortunately, we do not have codes or the dealer order form for 1956 Dodge models in our files.
This information was never passed along to the archives and does not exist within the company. The best I can provide are the paint codes, which
are to the right of the color swatch on this document.

I am very sorry we could not help you further. If you have any questions, please let me know.

I replied with:

"Thanks for checking your files. Too bad there was nothing to help me in my quest.

Since I purchased my 1956 Dodge in September 2016, I have been actively researching all aspects of 1956 Dodges (and some 1955 Dodge stuff).
I have collated and posted this information in various posts on the Forward Look (as 56D500boy). Please feel free to use this information to help
those who might inquire about their 1956 Dodges

For example:

1955 Dodge Body Codes (with input from Mike Peterson):

http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=74414&...

1956 Dodge Body Codes:

http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=69565&...

1956 Dodge Paint Codes (with help from Bruce Faulkner):

http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=63553&...

1956 Dodge Trim Codes:

http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=65230&...

I have also interpreted several 1956 Dodge IBM cards like the attached example. There isn't too much that I don't know about 1956 Dodges -
but the big problem is the lack of the order codes and/or broadcast sheets.

I recently put together a post regarding 1957 Dodge broadcast sheets and I would like to do the same for the 1956 Dodges. Like some of the other info posts,
I get help from people like "frwl".
Like this:

http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=78394&...

Kindest regards,
David Forgie"

I might have stretched the truth a bit about "There isn't too much that I don't know about 1956 Dodges" but I think that it is safe to safe we know more here than Stellantis does.
