This thing is completely put together and has been discussed on here back when Neil was still with us.. "numbers matching" I still want to see that.. No FCA build sheet validation.

Here we go again.

Looks like it has the 491 = Super D-500 code on the body tag but I am sure that I will be corrected.

So can anyone tell if that is an Offenhauser intake or something else? It does look aluminum.

I wonder where the 367 hp came from. (Magic?). A real Super D-500 2 x 4 bbl was only rated at 310 hp. It's a 325 not a 354 D501.

This 57 was owned by Bill Amberger, everything stated is "FAKE"...Bill told me when he sold it , it was a base Coronet and he sold it was an extra KD-500 Hemi Long block....it started life with a 325 2bbl

In the first Craigslist ad when this car was up in the bay area that is exactly what was said. It sold for 12-14k at that time. It made it way to the Santa Barbara area and got a set of wire wheels and a polish and low and behold was for sale again this time for 24-26k. Now this guy wants 35K for it. None of these "owners" I won't call flippers owners.. none of them have done anything substantial to this car other than tack on 10 grand and try to sell it with massive misrepresentations.

How do you explain the body tag? I thought the body tag would show it's identity, if it was legit or not. Did he make a phony reproduction of it?
But the fact that the seller claims it as a 1956 dash-1 and shows the motor stamp with the rest of the motor number cut off, tells me that I can't trust what he is saying about the car.

I agree that he seller is telling stories or fairytales. Maybe the same stories that they were told when they bought the car, thinking that it was real, not fairy dust.

Since they advertise the engine as a 367 hp 325 hemi, they are NOT claiming it as a D500 dash 1 at least NOT in the 1956 315 2 x 4 bbl context.

As for the engine number photo, they are just being cute, leading us to believe that it is a KD500 dash 1 (remember KD500 = 57 325 cu in hemi). I captured the engine number from a previous round of this same car on ebay. Here it is:
