Ridiculous. "Dealer installed" is an auction house way of saying "we have confirmed this car was not built with this drivetrain."

It's a cool car, a ram inducted manual trans two door wagon. That stands on it's own. No need to fluff it up with unprovable claims.

This one belongs to Chuck at Chuck's Classic Cars in TN. He built it many years ago, I first saw it about 11 years ago and it is nice.
He builds high-end MoPar muscle cars mainly.

I believe this auction ended around $46K, reserve not met.

Maybe not the case with 61 Plymouths, as these were officially available with a 413 and these were allegedly (for some reason) all dealer installed. So, if that is true, this car could be one of them. To me it makes no difference if the engine was intalled in a new car that never saw any miles at the factory, or a couple of miles away at the dealer.
The car above however is really a rare shortram, which was, afaik, not available for 61 Plymouths, but I could be wrong.

The short rams were available on the special race motors in '60-'62, and standard on the 300J in '63. I would assume that a 413 motor in a '61 Plymouth would have been for racing purposes, so in that respect, maybe the short ram is correct for it, but I'm mostly guessing. But if this were the case, I would expect to see the racing history behind the car. If it has no history, then it is all just make believe.

Are you sure about 60? The brochures, press kits and magazines don't mention it.

Where did you read about 60/61 Plymouth shortrams?

I have always been a fan of oddities cars. 4drs and wagons with Manuel floor shifts, multi carbs, factory tachs etc. Just being a 61 ply wagon is a oddity ,then 2dr wagon, then crossram, etc. wether or not it's factory, dealer or just built its pretty cool wagon. Question,Are there any 1961 4drs or wagons listed in the Darrel Davis book as having been built from the factory? Here is oddity I've been looking at(yes I know it's not FL!

Could you order a 1961 Chrysler 300G painted in prime (not color) from the factory? Not from the brochures...Could you stop, the whole assembly line, painting of any available color the top-of-the-line vehicle? Yes, you could.

Who knows, maybe you could order them to swap the engine too, which is a lot easier, if you knew the right dealer or person...

Something I learned over the years, is that nothing is "set in stone" with these cars...
