The left side spear trim on the quarter panel of my newest 2dr New Yorker is too short by almost 2 inches. I looked it over really well and I don't see any hint that it has been modified. I measured all the quarter panel spears in my possession and this is the only one that is shorter. Where did it come from? I thought that maybe the Windsor without the 2-tone used a shorter spear, but I haven't seen any pictures of them that don't reach all the way to the tail light. The Saratoga seems to be the same. Any idea what it could be from?

Interesting. If the profile (shape) is the same as the rest of the trim, then I have to assume it came from a different model of '57/58 Chrysler.

The '58s generally mounted their quarter trim more 'horizontal' than on '57s. Could that result in a trim piece that's a full 2" shorter? I doubt it! But... maybe?

Yes, the same profile as the correct '57 piece. And the '58 trim is a completely different profile. I don't know of any other application that uses the '57 Chrysler spear.
