I saw this car on the web, 5 years ago, or so. It does not have pwr windows or the inlays in the seat upholstery, as I recall.

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Chrysler_New_Yorker_Converti...

This one is/was in Sweden, that's all I know about it.

https://forums.aaca.org/gallery/image/14789-1958-chrysler-new-yorker...

This is Aivar's former car, He had two 1958 Chrysler New Yorker Convertibles,
He found both of them on "Route 66". This one was known as the "Ivory King", and
the one I own now was known as the "Emerald Queen". The Ivory King was sold to a friend of ours, Borje, who then sold it to a dealer in San Diego. After that, the car ended up in Canada, but Aivar tells me, it is back in the US, now.
Borje and Aivar got into a race one nite, and the Emerald Queen Won, YEAHHHH!

Here are some very high resolution pictures of my car, that I found on the web,
(You can "Zoom them")

https://www.flickr.com/photos/dmentd1/35764622123

https://www.flickr.com/photos/dmentd1/36177466570

https://www.flickr.com/photos/dmentd1/36405643132

zoom over to the right front headlights. (Where the Heck are they)?
On the way to this "Concours show in Palos Verdes, CA, the right front tire shredded
its steel belts and knocked the headlights onto the freeway! Everyone in the car still
wanted to go to the show, (I wanted to go home), but we continued to the show on
the spare tire. Once at the show, I told the judges, "forget about judging the car",
but they refused to do so, and the car placed 2nd in its class, (beating Borje's 59
Red & White Custom Royal Convertible). He was FURIOUS!!!

So there are three parade green '58 New Yorker convertibles out there? I had previously thought that they were all pictures of the same car. So, including Mike's red car, I count 5 total.

The Black and Spruce one was mine in the mid '80s. I got it from a guy who had it in Nevada, nice #3 car at the time, iirc I paid $5k for it. I've never seen another one. Traded it to Ron Wenger of Chambersburg PA for a white/tan '57 300-C convert basket case. Not sure where the NYwe went after Ron, who had an amazing collection of Mopar muscle cars... hemi Superbirds and the like. I have a pic of the NYer in an old photo album somewhere from when Ron drove it to my house once. I wish they'd take that horrible yellow battery out of there!!

Jist look at all 'em '58 New Yorker convertibles!  Common as ketchup!

Ha!  Just joking!  Each one of them is a rare jewel indeed!

Which do you think is the best of the bunch?  Kind of tough to pick, especially with just pictures.  You would probably have to see them all to tell.

There is also a 58 new yorker convertible in australia. It is a blue one that I bought on ebay in mid 2001. It was owned by a chrysler dealer collector in clinton sth carolina. It was a nice original car but I did a frame on resto and sold it in 2002 to a guy in new south wales australia. I believe he still has it. I will try and attatch some pics.

Sorry to unearth this post but i try w/o success to find a '58 NY convertible (in Sweden i think) which was restored some years ago. The story is that this car came from France (it was in bad conditions and incomplete), sold by a friend of mine 20 years ago .
Why i ask today where are the pics (i'm sure there were pics on the forum...) ? Because ther's a post on the Facebook page of FWDLK about a '58 NY convertible from the movie "Back Street" (1961) and i'm pretty sure it's the same car.

The movie car looks to have dual antennae, but the then unrestored one looked to not even have them then. Movie car looks to have a colored top, frame looks blue.

Yesterday i talked to Raphael, the guy who owned the NY 58 cv. between 2000 and 2011 (not sure for the exact year). He tolds me that his car was rather blue and had an original (optional ?) all vinyl interior, with the same pattern as 300 ! I look at car # 2 at top of this topic (yesterday the pics were not apparent) and this car has the all vinyl interior, so it's the car from Raphael.
He told me also that the family Veron (from which came the name Norev) has TWO 58 Chrysler, a Saratoga sedan and a NY convertible. Which had some license plate numbers very close. But they were licensed in the Rhone department (city of Lyon) with the 69 number at end of plate number and not 75 (which is Paris area) as in the movie.

So i'm pretty sure there were two '58 NY convertible in France !

Two separate ones would make more sense because eliminating the dual rear antenna option is something that isn't likely to happen.

Side bar: a bamboo yellow car with a black and gray (!) interior is for sale now in Hemmings.

$139K - unless it's a scam.  Says it's in Florida.  The images are poor.

Same images from when it was "for sale" in California on Facebook earlier in the year ($135K then)

Ohio license plates (?

something smells fishy.

Also in Sweden?
There should be no bumper guards on the front bumper…

That car belongs to Mike McCandless, and you are correct, that the extra front bumper guards don't belong there.

It is not the "movie star", as said Raphael Brunet. The movie star is another french 58 NY. Unknown destiny ...

Gotta say - I like those upper grille guards!  That darn New Yorker grille was so delicate, it deserved a little added protection.
