I have a 56 Plymouth 2 door sedan. It got a body off restoration a few years ago but we were never able to get the passenger side door to close smoothly. I've exhausted all the adjustments I can see to no avail. I was looking at the latch on the door post and it looks to me as if I were to file it down that might solve the problem. Has anyone tried this? Any other ideas?
Thanks

The shop manual describes door alignment. In some cases it is necessary to shim some of the body-to-frame mounts. If you don't have a shop manual, buy one.
