Looking to see if anyone has had the same experience.

I had the engine ( '61 Chrysler 413) rebuilt at the local shop. Before installing it I turned it over numerous times while working on it. I installed the torque converter with three "clunks" to register it to the trans. Installed block with heads into car. When I go to to rotate it for the first time I hear what sounds like a ring or circlip being forced out of a groove followed by the clattering of a part hitting a metal surface. Can't say for certain where noise came from, eg. engine lower end or tc, etc. although it sounded like it might have hit the oil pan.

Only real difference between previously turning over the engine and when part came off was engine now had tc and bell housing attached. Anyone have a similar experience?

Confused, the converter should be mounted to the crank shaft and the bell housing to the engine afterwards.
That is if the engine is a 61 with the cast iron hog A466

The rod that drives the fuel pump can come out and fall down in there if you don't have a fuel pump installed on it.
