Greetings again,

I'm looking for info on the type carb on a 58 Firedome wagon with 330 hemi. I pulled the one on the motor off to have it rebuilt but there is no model number to be found on the carb. I guess there was a tag attached to the air horn but it's no longer there. I am trying to find a re-build kit but without the model number am having no luck.

Any ideas? I could also just by another carb, just looking for input on where to find one, or a re-bulid kit.

Thanks in advance.

Houston? We might have problem.

A 330 hemi in a 58 Desoto does not compute (I think it should be a 361 non-hemi with the distributor at the front of the intake manifold, at least based on this:)

The last hemi used in Desotos in 57 was a 341 (non Adventurer) so a 330 is definitely not the original engine. If it is a 330 Desoto w/ 4 bbl. it would be a carter WCFB.

I was wondering whether that was a typo (he meant hemi but typed semi) *OR* he meant semi as in semi-hemi = polyspherical = poly

Regardless, by 1958 a 330 from the factory wasn't very likely as far as I understand.

This is awesome. It's a 56 desoto with the 330 hemi. Guess I picked the wrong day to stop sniffing glue.

So it was the "58" that was wrong not the 330 Firedome (hemi)?

I guess we will have to cut you some slack. :P

A 56 Firedome is an S23.

An S23 used a 1637 361 carburetor, also known 2310S as shown below.

Searching for Desoto carburetors with 2310S turns up this:

http://www.carburetion.com/Kits/desoto.htm

Which surprises me that the carb is a Carter BBD 2 bbl and the rebuild kit is a AF2032:

...did the OP indicate S23 ? The S24 would be a 4-bbl.
