Not the original engine. I'll say. Missing like 6 bbls. Does have the gas heater though.

"Nothing missing all the trim is on the car". (except front emblem, rear emblem, and all the lettering...)

Anyone know what the deal is with that lip on the front bumper?

Definitely a rare car with even more rare options. Front bumper bar looks like it might have come from a '60 Plymouth.

What? Except for the center bumper over-rider bar, I don't see what the issue is.

That motor is from a '54 or earlier with a wet intake. If it is '53 or earlier, it would have an extended bellhousing with the earlier trans. So my guess is it is from '54 with the original Powerflite, but who knows.

I am basically asking what's with the "over-rider bar"... Is that something you could order? Was it a dealer option? Or is it a custom-type setup?

That is quite common on '56 New Yorkers. Never seen it on a B. Might have been dealer installed, but more likely just something added over the years.
