So I'm adding power steering to my 270 small block V8. I have the rack and pinion and know what pump I need to order. I also have some steel I can use to fab up a bracket. I intend to mount it to the driver's side, using two of the water pump's bolts to hold the bracket. What I DON'T know how to do is add a second v-belt to the front of the engine! The water pump pulley has this sorta shroud over it with one pulley - is there a different fan assembly I can purchase that has two grooves? Or do I need to run it from the crank pulley, or across both somehow?

Any tips/guidance would be greatly appreciated!!

The factory did make two groove crank, water pump and generator pulleys for the small Dodge V8s, as shown below on my 315 hemi (the next iteration of the 241 and 270 and before the 325).

Most early Mopars don't have a separate harmonic balancer with a bolt-on pulley, they have a one-piece balancer/pulley. To drive a P/S pump you need a pulley with two sheaves, one sheave for the P/S pump like in the factory setup below.

Best to find the correct factory pulley but I have had some success with welding a second pulley to the front of a single-sheave pulley.

Hey Dave - did you have to replace those pulleys or are they original? I can’t find new ones to save my life...

If you are asking me, the answer is "They came on my D500 engine with PS".

That said, here is some info regarding potential double (crank) pulleys:
