After reading lots of posts on the site about the location of B sheets I went to my car and found mine on top of the glove box. Very exciting as I am trying to diligently document my car. I am lucky to have access to the original owners daughter and know the car is a 57 that was purchased new in 58. It is all original according to her. I think I know much of the information but have 3 questions for the experts on the forum.

1. My car is turquoise & jewel black which matches the paint code, but I am confused about the hand written note in the lower right corner that says BLK GOLD ROYAL? Just a misread by someone on the line or does it possibly mean something else I am not aware of? Could it be referencing the interior colors? They are somewhat that color.

2. Does anyone know what the 675 route was?

3. My car has mirrors on both sides but I only see reference to the 382 code for a right side mirror. Could this have been a dealer add on or did a left side mirror come in one of the accessory groups?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I think the black/gold note indicates gold painted dash with black pad.
Route 5 is delivered to dealer by truck.
Acc group 2:
Music master radio, heater defroster, back up lights, left outside mirror and day/nite mirror.

Now for the most interesting thing!!
Here is another broadcast sheet that shows Super D 500 in box 49 which will be card column 49 on the punch card.

If you send for your punch card please post it.

Can you take another photo (but still keep it under 250 kB)? I've tried to make the one you've posted bigger and better but it still isn't easy to read.

Greg, is column 49 Super D 500 unique to the 2-57 broadcast sheet?

The answer will be interesting because I've only ever seen 2-57 broadcast sheets posted here before. These:

It doesn't seem to be, Mike. Some do and some don't. The strange thing also is that card column 49 shows Desoto mouldings etc.
They built so few Super Ds that the paperwork may appear to us as incomplete but the factory invoice certainly didn't sell a Super D for the price of a moulding option!! !

Thank you very much for the reply and information. The hand written note definitely refers to a black and gold interior. As odd as it may be, I hadn't really paid that close of attention to the interior colors but they are most definitely black and gold. As soon as I receive my updated title, which I applied for 2 days ago, I will send for the punch card and will definitely post once I receive it.

That is as good as I can get it with the 250KB restriction. I have a much better image I could send you if you want to give me your email address?

Another question for the experts. What does the 5 digit number following the production date means, if anything? Mine is 0823 10029. I know that first 4 mean August 23, 1957 but are the last five digits symbolic of something, for example, it being the 10,029th Dodge to be built for that year?

To quote an expert (not me) answering a similar question for somebody else, in reference to this image:

Chrycoman - 2009-12-27 12:49 PM

The Shipping Order Number consists of the Scheduled Build Date and a number that is considered to be the sequence number for production on that date.

4 10 5931

Thus your vehicle's Scheduled Build Date was April 10, 1958. The actual shipping date would not be recorded anywhere on the vehicle as the actual date would not be known until after the car left the assembly plant. The build record at Chrysler Historical would have the date the car was built and the date it was shipped.

The 4 10 5931 should also appear on the body tag mounted on the firewall. It may appear as "0410 5931" and might be under "SON" or "SO NUMBER"
