I thought a few People might like this . Here is a pic from 1973ish when my mate owned this 1959 Dodge . If you look it has a period era 1970s Vic Plate , not its original plate .

He didnt think he had pics of the car , but he found some . Its still in Victoria being restored slowly i believe .

2 door or 4 door they will always be my favourite FL car.

Bet he was stoked that he found photos. I don't have any of my cars pre mobile phone camera days.

LHD in the 70's. Did he have to jump through hoops to register?

I think I may still have photos of this car. I'm pretty sure it was RHD, converted using an Aussie 4 door.

This is an interesting car; my friend has owned it for nearly 10 years... I was with him when purchasing it from the previous family who had owned it for decades.

Reputedly 1 of 4 brought in to Australia in 1959 and by Chrysler Australia converted to RHD back then.   (6x Plymouth coupes brought in '57 to test market under similar circumstances)

It was rumoured to be factory RHD but I have viewed the chassis up close and the scars from idler arm removal were present.  We chopped up this chassis as it had been damaged beyond repair.  The car is now on a sound chassis and is painted and being slowly restored as noted by 'The Adventurer'.

Supposedly a factory black car, it was well equipped with 361, swivel seats, power steering etc.  It spent some time in red duco after a traffic accident and is now back to its original colour after another accident.

It has appeared in Americar magazine in both red and black guises....

I'd like to hear your input Lozrox58 and see those pics please!

Colin
