Never seen air cleaners like that. Are those correct for the 56 Fury ?

No, the stock air cleaners are gold-painted oval.

Not that either. The oval air cleaners are typically used, but definitely not stock for '56. I believe you are thinking of '58 air cleaners. The '57 style isn't correct either, although they *may* have been used on *very* late production cars. The '56 Fury cars would have used air cleaners similar to the D500-1 cars - a big ugly can that covers both carbs. Note that most '56 Furys came stock with a single 4bbl carburetor that used an air cleaner similar to the '56 New Yorker. The dual quad option for '56 was quite rare.

This car will never sell at that price range IMO.

Well, those wheel covers should be buried *somewhere*.

Allow me to interject....
The '56 Fury never rolled out with a dual 4bbl set up, like the Chrysler and Dodge were so it would not have had the over sized air cleaner.
These are the correct air cleaners that were delivered in the dealer supplied dual 4bbl set up. These are just Pur-o-lator made aftermarket air cleaners that Chevrolet used on their Corvettes as well. The Plymouth missed the production date cut off to run in the factory stock class at Daytona and ended up running in factory experimental. Hence the bat wing shown in the article Dave posted.

But you see that kit was new during the late '57 model year when dual quad Furys were commonplace. I don't think you could get it when the car was first purchased in 1955. I also remember Richard (hoodinki) stating that a couple of dual quad Furys were made in '56, but I don't remember the source and my memory is uncertain. A thorough search of this site or the old email logs might dig it up.

Does anyone happen to have a copy of a similar add for the 392 dual quad add on?

"Then, on January 10, 1956, the Plymouth Fury was introduced at the Chicago Auto Show." (allpar article)

So very late for a production model. Speed week was in February and they rushed to get the manifold, heads and cam profile all sorted out for the experimental class.

I'm learning all this now that I have a Fury so I'm not claiming to be an expert or anything. The Fury's came standard with a 4bbl and the dual 4bbl was a dealer option in '56.

Six months later the '57's started rolling down the line.

Three months later and 10 grand cheaper. (Still too high, IMO)
