What's the biggest waste of a FL you've ever seen? Like, bad customs, cars wrecked because an idiot on his phone crashed into them, cars getting scrapped/parted even though they were rare or in good shape, or stubborn owners who refuse to sell a car and just let it rot away in a field. Stuff like that. Not counting any cars that were destroyed in the 60's and 70's when they weren't seen as collectible or valuable.

Probably a 58 Fury I Bought off a Farm in Auburn Indiana that was owned By a Guy That Let it sit outside for years with the Drivers Window Down .It was a Power Window Car They Thought The Window Motor was Bad ,I got the car Home removed the Door panel put some power to it it went up no problem. Many People tried Buying that car thru the years He Finally got Cancer and I Bought it off the Family. It was so Rusty By that time I parted it out .Waste of a Real 58 Fury ,But Lots of Parts live on off it.

This Dodge Matador that I bought in 1980 ...... I sold it to a friend of mine in 1982. It went through several owners and eventually some idiot stripped it down to bare metal and left it outside to rust, with the driver's window rolled down. I nearly cried when I found it in 2017 about 35 miles away from here. When I owned it the upholstery was mint original and the clear sparkle steering wheel was also like new. I have no idea where the engine went but the engine and trans had been removed.

Back in 2007, I bought a '57 Firedome coupe that someone had yanked the engine and transmission from, and then sent the rest of the car to a junkyard.

I don't know if all the rust it had came before or after the engine removal. But it was so bad that the front seat didn't have to be unbolted to remove - it was sitting on the frame rails because the floor no longer existed! There was also no gas tank because the entire trunk floor it attaches to was gone. Rockers, body mounts, doors, all rotted completely away. This car wasn't even good enough to make a couch from because it had gaping rust holes between the fins and the trunk lid.

Even with all the rust, it was a very straight and complete car though! A real "waste" as you say.

(fun fact, this front bumper still lives to this day on my Chrysler; you can tell by the subtle bend it has from the passenger side bumper guard to the edge, I kept it on purpose)

As far as the biggest waste of FL cars, I'd have to say the spur of the moment crushing out of Neil Freman's yard in Montana, without giving collectors a chance to save anything. It was the Holocaust of the Mopar world.

I couldn't begin to guess the number of really nice FL cars that I saw scrapped after removing the 392/354 Hemi for a race car...I hate to admit I was involved in some cases. Back in the sixties/seventies the engines were worth more than the car.

I agree.. I live in Kalispell, and Whitehall is only about 5 hours away. I had called him a couple of times for my projects, and always got the brush-off. Not a friendly person...

That yard in Fresno has all of Lowell Howe's Imperial collection, what a waste.

I went to Lowell Howe's auction, and a guy named Steve that buys collections made an offer on the entire collection. He rented space from Jerry Turner, as he didn't have any property, and rumor has it there was a dispute between them, and Turner told him to remove his cars, which he didn't.

Ugh! I don't care about the crappy Chevy van, but it is a shame that somewhere there is a 1961 Chrysler that had its wings clipped so that they could be mounted on top of that clown car.
