Expert 5K+ Posts: 9855 Location: Lower Mainland BC | This one: https://barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/1956-DODGE-CUSTOM-R... $11K (I weep)(Interior was not factory and the engine was just a 2 bbl 315 poly (in the wrong colour) but I still weep) "The chrome, exterior paint and interior were redone with over $23,000 in receipts included." Ouch. Edited by 56D500boy 2019-10-04 1:40 PM

Expert Posts: 3153 Location: NY & VT | Agree, 4 dr hardtops are usually better proportioned for big cars of this size, on a smaller car, not so much. Also agree, it was a very good buy at that price! It makes no financial sense to restore anything other than a very highly desired car any more. I've noticed a great deal of car price weakness of late. It's inevitable really, with the prime '50s/60s car loving generation (us!) getting old there will soon be a glut of these cars and a declining pool of buyers... sell now and avoid the rush! Or conversely, save your pennies and pick up that car that you always wanted for cheap! It's going to happen... sooner or later!

Not sure how true that is on a 56 Dodge but the factory thought that it would be a winner based on the BS in the press release: Edited by 56D500boy 2019-10-05 11:25 AM

Expert Posts: 2524 Location: Houston | It's $11,000 hammer price but after buyer's premium that comes to $24,564,102.

Elite Veteran Posts: 618 Location: Lubbock, TX | Um no... The prices on Barrett Jackson's website reflect hammer + commission. Even factoring in paying state taxes and titling fees and your still at about $12k or so
