I'm looking to order a new dash pad for my '59 DeSoto Fireflite Sportsman and had originally intended to send one of the few remaining scraps from under the trim as a sample. However, when I removed the scrap, the hue was too gold in color as the original pad is a gray/silver. I am assuming that years spent outside in the heat caused it to discolor. The interior code is 386 and the dash pad was definitely silver as seen in the old photos shown below prior to all the years it baked outside (dash pad is now all but gone). If anyone has close-up reference photos, original samples, etc., I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm just trying to make sure I get the hue correct.

Did you contact the people like Just Dashes who rebuild them? I imagine they may have experience with this. Also you might find Chrysler or even Dodge with a close match and since both were built in larger numbers perhaps one of them will have a color that's close.

I did not contact Just Dashes as I want to go with RD Autoline because they are the best quality available, but I appreciate the suggestion. Between a couple close-up photos I was able to obtain of originals and also using my gray strip between the rear seat and non-existent deck cover I think I have since found enough color references to get them the correct shade for the dash. You're probably correct though that there are other Chrysler Corp cars that used the same color.
