It's very uncommon to find a factory original car of this age in this kind of condition. I'm comparing it to my 24000 mile factory original '59 DeSoto Firesweep 4 door sedan and by all indications this '58 Chrysler is all that it's represented to be condition wise. I'm looking at armrests, door panels, no wear or discoloration of the painted interior window frames, shelf panel, dash and control knobs, steering wheel, all of which suffer from deterioration over time from wear, weather, etc. Nothing appears to be missing either that I can detect. Yeah, one can get picky about things such as the hex nuts on the battery hold-down or the relay mentioned above, but these can be easily replaced. It even has the classy wire wheels that some of you object to but I like 'em. The objection I have is the narrow WSW tires - they look sooooo out of place on these Forward Look automobiles...............and they can be replaced too.

I say good luck to the buyer and seller - perhaps both will be winners!

This isn't a Canadian built car. There were no Saratogas built in Canada in 1958. Instead, the Canadian built 58 Windsor was a re-badged Saratoga, but caried Windsor script on it.
I doubt that is is 11,000 original miles. The interior has been replaced with non original material on the seats.

Can't say I'm crazy about the panda paint job, and those tires are beyond ugly.
They would look perfectly correct on that concours 1972 Ford LTD, but you know why there
will never be a concours 1972 LTD ? Because their $#@ ugly POS's, just like the tires that
go on them ! Why anyone would put low, fat, and ugly radials on a 50's car, whose character
is defined in the period elements like tall and narrow, wide whitewall tires, is beyond my
comprehension.

The guy should have left the original rims and caps on, and not put the incorrect pass rear vision mirror on it. Steve.

This is my car and Im happy to answer any questions. Heres the deal on the current questions; the car was grossly misrepresented when I bought it you see the original pics above with the hubcaps, looks like a bottle. The car showed up from cross country shipping with no brakes, the gas tank in the trunk, cracked windshield, a big hole in the bolster of the front seat and a giant hole in the carpet. The tires were so dry rotted I was scared in the driveway. The guy was to say the least dishonest. I have invents over 30k into this car to make it what it is today. As for the relay I dont know I didnt have one and where do you stop. The tires, they are 2" I didnt think they looked bad but I suppose wide white wall would look better. The car is all good now. Front seat done with material from SMS, new carpet, completely new brake system, gas tank, fuel lines, shocks, tires, engine detail and resealing, new hoses, belts on and on. Runs and drives beautifully.

Very nice car. So why are you selling it now after putting so much effort and money into it? This should be the time to be enjoying it.

The deal is...if you only have an original relay, that is 100% fine. But at least clean it - that costs very little or even free if you steal soap from the kitchen and use your wife's toothbrush.

He's a dealer.  Awesome restore on that car!   58's are fairly rarer.    It must have been in great shape to only cut and buff the paint to have it come out that nice and no body work.

Based on very little yet to do, I would agree.

Somebody want to help me figure out how the bidding went?

I think o***6 was just probing on Oct. 19th to see what the reserve bid was and then gave up at $13,250?

r***1 had previously bid a max of $15,000 on Oct. 13th and o***6 couldn't break throught that with his/her bids.

I am not seeing a reason but r***1 had another high bid of $22,500 on Oct. 17

I don't see any other action for two days and all was quiet (except for o***6's probes).

Then 5***6 comes out of the woodwork and wins with $22,600.

I must be missing something but I can't get hidden/automatic bids to shed light on this?

What am I missing? (I want to learn)
