Do we have anyone with access to the FCA files?
One on my D500's is missing the VIN and Data tag and no papers for it either..
.I was hoping it could be found via the KD-500 engine numbering
I know it's a long shot but thought i'd ask anyways.

i thought it was microfiche? Give me the files, ill make a searchable website

I heard the one Regal Lancer guy(no title) saying he would go and hunt through them to find the regal lancer vins by looking through microfiche based on engine number... not sure if he had a clue what he was saying.

It is my understanding that all FCA Historical has is microfiche copies (and poor ones at that) of the "IBM" cards, somehow retrievable via the VIN number and the VIN number only. Nothing was stored by engine number. If you had some idea of the VIN range that a certain engine might be in, then somebody *theoretically* paw through the microfiches of that VIN range, searching manually (nothing was digitized) for the engine number and then lucking out and getting the VIN. However, that might not stand up to close scrutiny by DMV bureaucrats if push came came to shove because there is no guarantee that an engine in a chassis was the engine that the chassis left the factory with.

Anyway, that is sort of one reason why I am trying to keep track of 56 D500 engine numbers with build dates and VINs wherever possible.

John: You might want to contact Greg L. (LD3 Greg) to either ask if he can help with the VIN range and/or to add your engine numbers to his data base:
