Elite Veteran Posts: 618 Location: Lubbock, TX | Yeah, except the story is full of inaccuracies and BS. Claims it was an original 1958 Fury they started with, but then says it was an Original Red/White car, which is impossible. Then later mentions that it originally had the Savoy interior. again, I thought it was an original Fury? Then add in the claims that "it's one of the most stunning and correct Christine tribute cars"????? WTF. Then goes on to say that the headliner was redone with bows rather than the original fiber-board paneling, and talks up the interior fabrics/vinyl, making it sounds like they found the last collection of NOS materials when in reality they just bought it all from SMS like we all can. "The door trim panel bucks were made by Jim as well and are exact duplicates to the ones that appeared in the movie car. Including reliefs for the attaching clips. (most people choose to screw them on)." I have never in my entire life seen a restored Fury/Christine car with screwed on door panels. Again, all hype. I'll close with this final quote: "Final assembly and delivery will be May 2020." So a bidder is going to buy the car undone, and then is forced to allow them to finish it and can't take delivery for 5 months? You can buy a much better car for the money it's already bid to... ~Peter

Expert Posts: 2519 Location: central Illinois | I saw the episode where they were removing the headliner. Obviously had no clue what they were doing... but then they're a Mopar muscle shop. Probably the first pre-62 that's ever been in the shop. The car was a disaster when they got it. Floors and trunk made out of corrugated wall panels. Not a whole lot of time was spent documenting the teardown like they do on some of the rarer cars.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9604 Location: So. Cal | No chance of the front wheels getting air with those tires & rear suspension. Hit the throttle and just slide around. Pretty pointless to have that much power in that car. Anyone know what an A41 4-speed auto overdrive trans is?

Expert Posts: 1481 Location: Lordstown, Ohio | A frame will never diamond from torque. to diamond a frame you have to have a front impact or rear impact. it can twist never diamond how do i know or support that heavy hit collision tech for 26+ years

It's what Silver Sport calls their 4L60 with a Mopar bell housing. https://shiftsst.com/blog/post/mopar-street-rod-and-truck.html Good option if you have a B/RB and want an overdrive. Don't know why you would use it behind a modern Hemi over a Chrysler OD. I'm guessing the modern Chrysler trans is too big.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9604 Location: So. Cal | To me, it sounds like they are trying to hide the fact that it is really just a 4L60E that you can purchase from anywhere and use an adapter, or their bell housing. They really should just be selling bell housings, but I seriously doubt that they will sell them separately. Same ol' crap that Keisler was doing before them. But for us, with extended cranshafts, we pretty much have to use an adapter anyway so there's no point to purchasing an expensive bell housing. Also, I have found that overdrive on an automatic isn't really worth the trouble or expense. Edited by Powerflite 2020-01-10 6:13 PM
