Wow, this was a big help, so far I learned my 59 Imperial was made January 28 1959 at the Warren Avenue plant in Detroit.  It was in fact the 3828th one built  Its original paint was Gray Rose Metallic with a Landau top and had power windows.  That has wetted my appitite for decoding the rest of the tag.  Apparently somewhere someone has all the rest of the numbers decoded, where can I find that?  Some of the links in this thread have expired, maybe some were in there.
