Vans Auto has reproduction gas tanks for many cars and I asked if they planned to make them for 1960-64 wagons. They said no as they would need to make at least 300 of them.

Are there 300 people out there needing one? I know I had a hard time finding one and almost resorted to buying a rusted out one to try and repair as I had no tank at all.

I would be interested in at least one gas tank. Even to just have as a spare.

A total of 300 minimum production unfortunately, seems like that maybe a difficult number to reach considering the number of wagons still around and not all of them will need a gas tank.

I haven't pulled mine to determine yet, but I'd be willing to be it's shot.

Tell Vans that they could probably double the price of the tanks and they would sell. This would recoup their initial cost quickly. The price of their regular tanks are very reasonable. I don't need one now, but I'm certain one will be needed in the future,

Supply and demand determine price. I lucked out in finding a used one at a reasonable price and would have paid a lot more if I had to.
