Regular Posts: 86 Location: MN | I'm working on installing new roof rail weatherstrips and now I'm seeing a gap between the vent window and the door window. Then I noticed on the other side a partial seal in that position. Does anyone make these seals or any idea of a suitable replacement? Here are a couple of photos. Thanks, Shawn (Vent.jpg) (Vent A.jpg) Attachments ---------------- Vent.jpg (140KB - 147 downloads) Vent A.jpg (141KB - 148 downloads)

Expert Posts: 1737 Location: Hay Lakes, Alberta, Canada | Hi Shawn, I took a look at one of my cars here, a '57 Chrysler, that uses the same vent windows. It appears that the end seal is actually part of the whole rubber part, that incorporates the vent window seal as well. So, I don't know of a replacement. The whole rubber seal for those vent windows was available many years ago, but I don't believe they are available any more.

Regular Posts: 86 Location: MN | Hi Brad, Thanks for checking that out. It never occurred to me it was part of the entire vent window seal with what looks like a little "rivet" at the edge of the vent window frame. There's a little bit of metal sticking out of the frame so I'll have to try to re-create that end from a piece of rubber and hopefully be able to bond it to the metal somehow. I'm not sure what else I can do at this point unless someone else here has "been there and done that". Thanks again, Shawn

Regular Posts: 86 Location: MN | Thanks Matt. I was hoping there was a solution out there. Before I saw your post, I had been looking in the '55-'58 Parts Catalog and was relieved to see it's a separate piece: Item 23-64-71, Bumper, in the attached image, which is part# 1846 326 for reference. Regular Posts: 86 Location: MN | Thanks for the additional information Paul. Is there a trick to installing those vent window tips? It looks like there's some sort of rivet in there but I haven't dug into it too far yet. And what do you use to fasten the new ones in place? I did order Item# 23-63-33 from Quirey when I ordered the roof rail weatherstrips but I'm not seeing where they go. My original roof rail weatherstrip from the factory was just cut to go around the front pillar - no separate piece. So I cut mine to match. I'll try to take some photos when I'm home this evening.

Elite Veteran Posts: 1140 Location: Blackpool, United Kingdom. | Hi Shawn, I don't think I have seen the roof rail end seal on the Plymouth? The vent frame seal I think the original has a steel insert inside and is rivited to frame, on mine I am just going to hold them in place with window wound up and use PU adhesive, you should be able to trim the old one away and still keep rivet in place so it looks original.

For the vent window tips, I installed them with black 3M adhesive, put the window up while it cures.
