hi
I have 56 plymouth 2 bbl and I do not have the upper part of the oil bath air cleaner with the car at this time. Am I risking any damage to the engine by driving car short trips around town, temporarily?
thank you

If I'm thinking right about the upper part you are missing, you have two risks. One is the car could backfire and catch the carburetor on fire and two, you can draw dust and debris into the engine and damage the rings and cylinders.. If just driven for a short time, both of these risks are low in my opinion. If you are driving on a paved street and not a dusty dirt road, the risk of engine damage goes way down but it would not be a good idea to do this for very long.
