I think it might be Cuba.

Yea, the license plate says Cuba. I personally don't see myself attempting to mail any parts there...

Wonder how they got those door handles to work. I'll bet the original motor is long gone.

he needs tail lights badly, said he wants to restore to original... he has the desoto bumper extensions...

I think if you cut down a chrysler tail light it would work, those tail lights are bad... I might send him some of my spare sedan parts. I know i have the sedan window trim. He should pull the side trim off also and wow needs hubcaps but those probably get stolen.

turn signals are rough... those are expensive.

I think i have a couple spare trunk locks also.

Post a picture of your interior if you can respond. I have plenty of spare parts from the dash also.

I have everything you need to convert it back. What's more, I really need your DeSoto rear bumper, so I would be willing to trade you parts. But I am in So. California, which is quite a ways away. Shipping is going to be pretty expensive.

I'm pretty sure there is an embargo in effect concerning U.S. trade with Cuba....

OR NOT?

"Does USPS ship to Cuba?
USPS resumes postal service to Cuba. The U.S. Postal Service will start providing mail service to Cuba on March 17. The move marks the first time in more than 50 years that U.S. citizens are able to send direct mail to the island nation.Mar 17, 2016"

they had to carry them on and put them on planes in "oversized" luggage.

They put some pretty big things in oversize luggage Im glad to see things are changing. not sure he has the cash to ship a bumper back and forth... prob 300 each way just the USA trip. https://youtu.be/w15k4yh1Pyw

I see you can only send smaller packages to cuba.  Its like 50$

Looks like it just needs to get to S Florida...

okay well i think shipping his bumper from cuba isnt feasible. But do you need his bumper extensions? not sure what kind of shape they are in, i think they look rusted.

I talked to him on facebook and he said thinks he can get a Chrysler rear bumper. He said many cars now are dead and dying on the street since they can't be driven they are cannibalized completely of trim/switches etc but the big pieces are left because the running cars have those.

He said its titled a new yorker but his seats say Windsor? but he wants to make it original as he can. Somewhere down the line it was pretty much stripped.

It has a 55 chevy motor in it.

I have 4 58 desoto caps, Chrysler hood letters(Need the S), Center steering wheel cap(off a 57 yorker), passenger tail light, some 1970 new yorker gold emblems(7 inches long but they work). rear window trim, Maybe some headlight rings. New yorker front bumper extensions. these items have some minor pits and are not perfect.

He also need interior handles(i think plymouth or dodge would work since the lever pull type stuff is gone. I can get him rear handles easily but I wonder if his car has been welded up? If someone has slightly pitted fronts that would work.

ill also be sending some switches and stuff i have lying around.

I have some front fender long trim i am looking at sending, i wont use and it seems to be readily available but dont have the sedan side trim(at least get him a long single side pieces instead of that door sill crap he has).

I don't have a spare 57 grill though.

He messaged me on FB. He is stuck in Italy till sept he said but Im going to put a small box for him(he's paying shipping) of stuff I have lying around ill never use.

Radio face and buttons(no radio).
Radio fill plate and maybe a little Chrysler
chevrons
Front hood letters(need a S).
Two 7 inch New Yorker emblems(from 70's car) in gold and the matching Chrysler for the trunk. they are a pretty good match for the 57
instrument panel trim around the speedo
and some spare switches, windshield wiper, ignition, used gas pedal

I have a tail light, trim, maybe side trim, grill and stuff. Shipping to Italy is 100$ for one box(USPS) 175$ with Fedx, 200$ with UPS, big stuff is impossible.

But when this blows over i think i can just ship to Miami and then they get it to cuba by carry on with passengers, they give them a couple bucks and each person puts in oversize baggage he said.

"what do you have to declare? A 1957 Chrysler front grill sir"....

look at his rear springs... i think those are solid pieces of metal.. Most of this stuff is not perfect but can be cleaned up and silver painted I guess.

That's not a Chrysler light switch. That's for a Dodge or DeSoto.
