56 Dodge in my case.

After taking off the driver's side mirror base yesterday and cleaning a few things up, I realized that my fender mirror glasses are pitted (or something).

They are roughly 4 3/8" in diameter with a beveled edge. They might be slightly convex (I can't tell for sure).

New ones would be nice but even if I had them, I am not sure how easy the new ones would be to install without destroying the housing.

I think that an empty mirror housing would look like this:

Have a pro to cut you a convex glass that will fit without messing with the mirror. Glue it with mirror safe silicone and fill the gap around with black silicone.
Serge did this with his mirror and I followed his advices when I mounted my convex mirror glass

Location: Under the X in Texas
Had a flat one done at a local glass shop one year ago for $10. Bring the mirror in so they can measure the diameter. Simple.
