Never seen anything like that before. Is that aftermarket? Parking brake, brake and gas pedal are the same style. The car is a Polara. This is evidenced by Polara upholsery and the fin-end lenses. Sedans came with the small rear window. Pedals are later from 63-64. Funny that the A/C compressor is a York compressor, typically used with after-market Mark-IV systems which is what is in my 60 Saratoga, though this Polara has a decal on the drive's side of the windshield saying A/C by Chrysler.

The washboards were optional on both Polara and Matador and there are quite a few Polaras without them. I think they may have been removed from this car, although the factory brochure shows this upper washboard trim by itself in one artist rendering. I know of one Canadian built Polara that was built this way, with only the washboard upper trim, but this auction car is a US built car. Normally the upper trim came with the washboards. As far as standard exterior trim, the Polara came with the large front fender-top trim pieces that were painted black with the little chrome fins on them. Matadors only came with the little chrome piece. This car has the black trim pieces, and can be seen if you looks closely. Also looking close at the rear quarter panel on each side near where the bumper wraps around, you can see 2 small holes, maybe clip mounting holes for the washboards? This is the Canadian built Polara with the upper washboard trim and no washboards. Only one I've ever seen prior to this car on auction. Expert 5K+ Posts: 7393 Location: northern germany | Interesting, thanks. I always prefered the Matadors because I thought these came without the washboards and thought it was standard equipment on Polaras. The picture of the brown colored canadian Polara shows how wrong offset/size wheels can ruin the look of a FL car!

Also most of the dealer installed A/C systems used the standard Chrysler V twin compressors. Is this car worth restoring ?? Sure needs a lot of parts and work. Notice the radiator and the correct carburetor are missing. And all the door panels. Call SMS for them. I think they are 1500 now without the stainless trim. It does have the cool clock.. Lets see what happens
