Just asking a question ahead of trying this. Does anyone know how to remove the glass from the front Qtr window of a 1956 Dodge Custom Royal sedan. I need to take my original glass out and put it in another frame due to bad rust in the original Qtr window frame. How can you get it out of the frame? I do not want to risk breaking the glass which is solex. Also looking for a good quarter frame and lever for front RHS.

Alternatively if anyone has a RHS front quarter window with solex glass and good frame and lever, that would solve a problem ??
Thanks, Steve

Steve: There is a chance that the quarter window glass was glued into the frame. So it might be possible to soak the frame (and glass) in some form of solvent, e.g. Moovit or acetone or PB Blaster (not sure what you have down under) and soften the glue. Then (maybe) you will be able to gently pry the glass out of the old frame. Examining the frame with the good chrome (but bad glass might give you some clues).
