Subject: accelerator linkage seal

i know my 58 plymouth had some kind of seal where the accelerator pivot is on the floor but it is long gone. anyone have a good idea for a replacement? thanks

There were several aftermarket boots available but they were too thick and simply didn’t work or even fit! I just used latex or nitrile surgical glove material and it is still working after 20 years!

Gary Goers used to sell them (something) so maybe Quirley's does now.

I made my own from a Mercury Marine throttle cable boot and a piece of EPDM rubber from a roof vent "jack"

Attached is a picture of my accelerator seal. I'm almost certain this is original because the car has been in my family since purchased and it sat in a garage for years. I can't imagine it being replaced. You could use truck tire inner tube rubber or leather to make a new seal is looks like to me. But not sure.
