I am an old Mopar mechanic with a poor memory working on a 56 Dodge Hardtop. Reading threads, I found Dave F's thread (http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=67458&posts=21&start=1) on his battle with carpet and the inspection cover. I followed that lead and made a full gasket from a piece of EPDM roofing material I acquired. (Could not find a piece of nitrile). I will still fill some gaps where there is a difference in shape between the floor pan and the inspection cover with SikaFlex.

P?S The clothes pins also work if you are doing a wiring job to keep a bundle of wires together as you go.

Del: Looks good. Glad you found my thread for some guidance (good and bad). I think I like your single piece solution better than mine but both work.
