I bought an original copy of the Salt Lake News from Sept 1955 regarding the record setting 56 Custom Royal 315 poly sedan. The seller is in Olympia Washington.

This is the pathway to Canada (Vancouver BC area - 203 miles from Olympia) so far:

Olympia WA
Seattle WA
Portland OR
Carson CA
Los Angeles CA
Redondo Beach CA
Compton CA
Carson CA (again)

Something is wrong wrong wrong.

Jeez...I bought a pinball machine off of eBay and it went from Illinois to Florida much faster than that, and with no ridiculous hops either. Good luck!

And people wonder why there are reservations about mail in ballots.

Yeah when the postmaster intentionally screws up how the USPS works I can see how that might be the problem..

Maybe but they also add a sky high custom fee since day one for items that are custom exempt in Germany. One word: Fraud.

Johnny, I don't think that is the global shipping program, it says UPS worldwide expedited that would be United Parcel Service. Plus the seller sets the shipping and often jacks it up.

The best shipping price into Canada is by the global shipping program and I think it is operated by Pitney Bowes for eBay. I have had over a hundred parts shipped with them and you get a notification when shipped, clears custom, and out for deliver with Canada Post. Works great for me.

DAVE: That says USPS on the tracking, for me the global shipping program always fly's stuff to Toronto and then into Canada Post

Whatever. I am just frustrated by all the BS in California. Why did it go from Portland to Carson and then LA and Redondo Beach (south of LA about an hour) and then north to Compton (SE of LA) and then back to Carson. WTF? Insanity.

I bought a hard NOS part out of Ohio and I have it already. Not complaints there. This is just two double-sided newspaper pages. Could have just been put in a mailing tube and mailed by the seller, outside of the BS Global Shipping program. I would have it by now. The seller keeps telling me to be patient. Yeh, right. Never again.

I've been waiting on an item I bought on July 28th. Estimated arrival date was Aug 11-20, still not here. Customs was cleared on Aug 25th so that means it's here in Canada. Where - is anyone's guess.

I talked to a Canukian on Epay, He said the shipping would be $25 for ups 4 day for some trim in a pvc tube. Ebay quoted $53 or so. You just have to talk to them so they can find better prices if they want to sell the items.

Nope, not yet. But there are reasons to hope. I checked the tracking everyday and even late (11:30 PM) last night and the latest was it had left Carson CA (for the second time, this time heading north, not south) on Aug. 29th enroute to its "Destination Country". This morning, after reading your post, I checked and WTF? it said that it had arrived in Canada on Saturday Sept. 5 and was being processed. Presumably it will be out for delivery soon (but not today being Labour Day). So maybe tomorrow or Wednesday?

When I get it, I will scan and post the contents, likely in my "Myth Busting" (Stake through (the heart)) thread.

Well surprise surprise surprise. Despite no new tracking updates since Sept. 5th (including this AM at 8 AM), the envelop with the Salt Lake City News Bulletin - Salt Flats Special showed up around 11:50 AM today.

I have been trying to get a good scan of it, in 8 "pages" (4 sheets, upper and lower) but it is an awkward size and I am failing. Either I need to get my bigger scanner out of mothballs or I need to figure how to use this HP all-in-one printer/scanner better. Later today.

Maybe

At least I have an original now.

EDIT: Just made a final check. Finally shows delivered but it doesn't show what was going on for the past 4/5 days.

I did post the scans of the Salt Lake City News Bulletin around 5 PM today: http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=74600&...

I've certainly had trouble with the post office lately. My dad's medicine got handed off from UPS to the post office (going from Arizona to California) and it got lost in limbo. Never had that problem since we've been using Pillpack for his and my mom's medications. Pillpack has now instructed them not to hand off to the post office anymore.

I've got to ship some parts to Australia and they are being super aggressive with decontaminating stuff coming from the US. Soaking packages and their content with some chemical. So you don't want to send anything that can get damaged by that process.

Other shipping methods within the state seem to be working just fine. Just ordered a bunch of NOS parts from Georgia and hoping they come soon without issue.
