Does anyone know who produces the special drum puller needed for 1955-'56 rear brakes? Turns out they're good for some Studebakers and Jeeps as well, and low and behold....Dad's thinking semi-seriously about getting a Lark or Hawk.

56D500, I have a slide hammer puller that I use/used on mine and it poped them right off. I will be coming through your area in early Jan and can bring it to you to use. Let me know.

Thanks for the offer Del. The shop who did my brakes (back in Nov. 2016) spent 2 days with a slide hammer and failed. I bought one of Les's puller kits in November so I presume that it will work (when I get to that project this winter).

Is a slide hammer really the right tool? Won`t it apply a huge force on the wheel bearings? I assume the hammer part must be 10-15 lbs to do the job..

The old snap-on or blue point puller works really well. That's what I use.
