I read in a post that dual exhausts were standard on 1959 Chrysler Windsor convertibles, but factory brochure says dual exhausts were not available on Windsors. Which is correct? Anybody hacve any definite information from Chrysler?

On a related note, does the 1959 Dodge and 1959 Desoto Firesweep exhaust system interchange with the 1959 Windsor?

Definitely not all '59 Dodge as some had the 326 or six cylinder. Also, the Firesweep & D500 motor was a B motor, which would be slightly different than the RB. But I don't know if that difference is enough to matter.

For 1960 Windsor had NA for dual exhausts. There should not be any technical reason for this, the only difference from the "Big" cars are a shorter subframe/ front clip. My guess is that the engine to firewall measurement is the same. Hypothetically a dual exhaust system för a New Yorker should fit, perhaps with minor modification.

Perhaps the complications are related to the convertible's big X-member, not present in the sedans and hardtops (??)

I'm not very informed about the convertible frames, but I presume that the X is mirroed and has the same hole pattern on both sides.
