Nice looking car with great colors & original style interior, but terrible photos. With the light yellow color, I think it would look better if the top of the door frames were painted black like the roof. This car has some funky looking headlight surrounds that I've never seen before. Anyone know what they came off of?

This Belvedere is an all original car with immaculate jaw dropping interior. Chrome is spectacular, runs and drives great, sure to be a show stopper. This ride was featured on “Back Road Gold” TV series in 2014. Features include:•277/187 HP engine with 2 barrel carburetor •Push button automatic transmission•Fresh paint and restored interior•All new trim and chrome plating •New whitewall tires from Coker Tires

I thought that the strange headlight surrounds would be from a 56 Desoto Diplomat (Plymouth based) but no. My next guess would be a Aussie Chrysler Royal or Ute but no there also. So ??

As for the door colour thing, I've always liked the blacked out B-Pillar area option:

Very nice car, I'd keep it as is, less the cheesy rain umbrellas on the doors.

I might be wrong, but the interior patterned fabric does not look stock. However, it does look unique and reminiscent of the stock pattern, so it works well.

That's the stock fabric for a 4-door hardtop. The correct fabric for a 4-dr sedan would have been the Aztec design, just like for the 2dr hardtop & 2dr sedan. Convertibles could have come with the Aztec design or a plain vinyl.

So they used the hardtop fabric in a sedan restoration. ! I guess I've never seen a stock 4-door hardtop in real life, or I thought I would have noticed the difference.

I don't see anything special about the headlight bezels - looks standard to me.

they definitely don't look standard.
I found better pics of this car. https://www.classiclinc.com/1956-plymouth-belvedere
Definitely not a Lincoln, probably aftermarket part.

Thanks' Robert, now I see that the headlight bezel/fender has an extra chromed eyebrow - very nice indeed.

Thanks alot for the better picture link! I wonder why they chose not to continue the black paint under the trunk? That stainless strip that goes along there is used to divide the paint colors on a two tone car, but they chose to paint the whole thing yellow instead. It would have looked much better with the black under there.

So extra "eye brows" or maybe "eye lashes" (??). Looks like they were pot metal. Regardless, that is a lot of tooling for what must have been a fairly limited market, i.e. those who wanted to "doll" up their value-leader Plymouths. 100's? Probably. 1000's ? doubtful. I wonder what the business case looked like.

Agree. Back when I had my 55 Canadian Dodge Regent (Plodge) (1967-72) one of the first things that I did was to paint that area black (even though the car was green and white). I though it looked "Cool".

Not sure where I got the idea from but certainly the factory painted some cars like that (when they were black and ....) :

(These are probably all the same car):

Nice car! I like the yellow B pillars myself. I've grown to really appreciate the '56s, particularly Plyms. They are far better assembled than '57s, more functional in that not too low and far easier to get in and out of, and the 2 spd PowerFlite, while not as efficient, was darn near bulletproof. Allegedly the interior fabrics were more durable than those used in '57/58s as well. And the cars themselves seem to have held up better over the years. My $.02
