Your photos can be much bigger (as long as they are <250 kB) and if they are .jpgs, not .jpegs (from an iPhone), you will be able to upload them so we can all see them.

That said, there are only two devices that are wired to the Powerflite automatic transmission (which is what I assume that you have), the neutral safety switch and the reverse light switch.

The basic wiring diagrams are in this thread:

Here is a link to neutral safety switch info:

The single wire neutral safety switch:

The starter Relay as it relates to the neutral safety switch:

Okay thanks. So the shifting mechanism doesnt need any electric? This is my first Mopar and I don’t understand the push button yet.

The 56 era Powerflites are shifted by a cable attached at the upper end to the shifter box (with the buttons) to the left of the steering wheel and at the lower end to the transmission. The buttons on the shifter are attached to spring loaded slider plates that move (push/pull) an actuator bar that is attached to an actuator lever arm to which the cable is attached. Each push button (and bar) moves the cable to a specific position which down at the transmission mechanically translates to a specific (unique) position in the shifter valve assembly (the rest is mechanical magic that books have been written about).

I hope that you have the shifter cable because you are hooped without it.

Some info that might help you (I have more to share once you get your head around this:)

Details of the lower end of the cable (removed for measurement of the O-ring):

I don't have the slightest idea what is happening in the little box, but I fired it up and it goes through all the gears. Now I just hope it shifts correctly. I am going to go through tthe brakes tomorrow and will take it for a little spin to see how it performs.

anybody know what this little button on the floor is for? It looks like it is attached to a vaccum pot on the firewall. see pics.

Well that is good news on the transmission side. Hopefully it shifts fine on the road. Dry slowly and test those brakes gently.

As for that "button" on the floor and the "vacuum pot". Believe it or not, that is your foot-operated diaphragm pump that, when working properly, with all the hoses attached, squirts windshield washer fluid from the plastic "Jiffy Jet" bag on the driver's fender liner onto the windshield.

Nothing is going to happen Gently with this car. I am going to hammer on it like a rented mule! Then when it breaks I will know what needs fixed.

I kinda figured that button was for windshield squirters. The Jiffy bag is still in the trunk. These cars have a lot of weird and cool gadgets , it is fun trying to figure them out. Now I need to find a timing mark indicator for the 325 Hemi in it so I can set the timing properly.
