Elite Veteran Posts: 943 | It's finally time to do the headliner on the '57 Dodge wagon I'm restoring. It's a board headliner and of course no one reproduces it. What are my options here? I was told that REM makes perforated cardboard, is this correct? What have you other wagon owners done?

Expert 5K+ Posts: 5006 | i didnt like my goliners headliner. I converted my 57 Dodge 2dr ht to a vinyl headliner. the better one is .. newstalgiaparts on ebay but not sure they make a wagon version Neither one makes a wagon headliner, i think if you get a coupe version and have it modified to fit the wagon https://newstalgiaparts.com/p/48493/1957-dodge-royal-headliner contact them, get the headliner bows also.

Extreme Veteran Posts: 380 Location: Kennewick Wa | When l first got my '57 Dodge wagon, it had a perforated vinyl headliner in it. But still used the stock bows. I don't know who did it but it looked nice... til it got ripped :-( When l got the new interior in the 2dr, the upholstery shop used a perforated vinyl...

Expert Posts: 3777 Location: NorCal | If the boards are still intact, you might consider using them as a pattern for new board or gluing perforated vinyl to them and reinstalling. Edited by 57chizler 2021-02-26 1:04 PM

Elite Veteran Posts: 943 | My boards are totally shot and badly warped. I just saw this on the newstalgia parts website https://newstalgiaparts.com/p/42831/1957-dodge-suburban-headliner-co... Anybody tried it? Would sure love to know where that vinyl one came from that used the original bows.

Veteran Posts: 148 Location: Mandurah, Western Australia | How did you manage to get the plastic liner out in one piece? My 55 wagon liner has a few holes in it and I would like to take it out and patch it. Also do you have any suggestions for the rubber seals on the rear side windows?

Regular Posts: 75 | Sorry, I’m a little late to this thread. I just sent in my “pretty nice” original headliner boards from my 57 Dodge wagon to REM. They will use them as a template to make reproductions. They should be receiving the package today, turnaround might be 6-8 weeks. I’ll post photos when they’re done.
